I don’t think that “prude” is the right word. LOL.  Unless you’re taking the object while nekkid and that is probably a whole ‘nother word.

If everybody thought “take it” when confronted with a sparkly, then prices would be a lot higher for everything.

OK!  I took those mugs at my wedding brunch!  I admit it!!!  (sobbing) You’re a tough interrogator!

I don’t think you’re prudish to want to pay for the things you have.  For me, that’s the only way I could appreciate them.

Taking towels, robes, and other stuff from hotels is stealing.  The hospital room is a grey area and the best thing to do is just ask a nurse.  But it’s not a free-for-all just because it costs a lot to stay there.
