With your most awesome sewing skills, I thought you’d make something you like? I made mine and Em’s dresses from a Vogue pattern, because I wanted something pretty and floaty, but not traditional wedding, and it worked out much cheaper to just make it myself. And it was no more stressful than dealing with a bridal store wink

OMG, no wonder D & P are friends--they both don’t like the whole birthday celebration thing.  Where I, much like you LOVE my birthday.  Well, not necessarily the age thing but just having a nice dinner, tasty wine and gifts to open.  Hee, Hee.

90 days--WOW!!  Time does go fast.  I am sure you will find something wonderful to wear.  I have heard horror stories about some bridal shops.  Just avoid the ones that are super small and have names in French.  LOL.  Good luck!

I wore a linen skirt and a blouse with old lace for our wedding.  Very low-pressure shopping.  My big problem was a hat (HUGE head.) But even that sort of fell into my lap.  So, again, deep breath.  Everything will probably come right to you.

You could have some fun, walk into a bridal shop and ask “What goes well with giraffe tongue?”, totally serious faced.  Watch them die a little and then walk out and find yourself something pretty, yet versatile.  Or sew something.  Just don’t stress because you know it will turn out fine.

Brass band?  With a baton twirler, too?

Absolutely no stressing.  Ask not for whom the bells toll.  Screw the non-plus size bridal shops.

And other wise words of advice.  smile

Calm.  Its a dress and the perfect one will come to you.... I just know it.  I kind of agree with Donna - maybe making something simple that completely fits your style/personality is the ticket?

Hugs....

It’s true - who knows you better than you.  You could make it - but then again why not look around and see what you like and lash out and buy it.

I do understand you more than you think in regards to this as Steve and I have been toying with getting married and it crossed my mind “What would I wear?”. I mean we live together, have kids, the white meringue dress isn’t really going to work for me either.

Breathe in........and.................ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.

It will all come together.

We have posh clothes shops that look down their nose at anyone who is not a size 8 (our size 8, which is small here) I never go in, but they are waaaay too expessive!!!
How exciting that the rig’s arrived though!!
Wear something you’ll feel comfortabel in and wear your shoes a lot too. The shoe advice is good!!!
